I put less rum and I could still get drunk out of this!! :) but I just LOVED it. It was gone in no time. I passed the recipe to my mom and we will both make it over and over. Thanks

Delicious but way too strong...I only put in a cup of rum already being wary of the alcohol. It was still a bit much. I'd go with 1/2 or 3/4 cup rum next time. I used cheap burgundy, lemon juice instead of a lemon, pineapple-orange juice (it's what I had), and added some maraschino cherries like some others did. Also, don't let it sit for longer than an evening with all the fruit in it or it gets real bitter (probably from the citrus rinds). But again, it was delicious!

wow... just a tad too much rum. for those who like it strong, follow this to the letter. for those who like it reasonable, cut the rum in half. but i do like my bevy's with a bold taste so i enjoy this one overall, thus the 4 stars

I used Captain Morgan as others had recommended and thought the spice and rum was too strong in the mix. I would use Brandy next time.

I love this sangria recipe - very quick and easy and it tastes wonderful! I replace 1/2 cup of the rum with triple sec and lower the sugar to 1/4 of a cup. Also, I just mix it all up and let it sit in the fridge over night. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

This has WAY TOO much Rum for a Classic Sangria. True Sangria is just the wine, fruit and a classic syrup made with sugar and water. If you wanna get a buz on, this is the one for you though!!

EXCELLENT recipe and EASY too! I added ginger ale and it gave it a little fizz and cut the strong taste for my lightweight friends (ha ha).

I actually followed the recipe when I made this and wasn't real sure about it when I started drinking it. Neither was my sister or a friend who tried it, but my sister and I persevered, and we agreed - the more you drink, the better it gets. :)

I've been making this sangria for a couple of years now . . . everyone always loves it and asks for the recipe. The only thing I changed after the first time was the quantity of rum. I only use one cup per batch instead of 1-1/2; it's plenty!

I soaked 1 orange 1 lemon 1 lime in Orange flavored rum with sugar for a few hours...added a bottle of black swan merlot...awesome. I also made the orange juice ice cubes. Pour in the sangria...2 orange cubes...top it off with a splash lemon lime sparkling water...AWESOME! I cut up some extra oranges to garnish the glass...Fun to make...even more fun to drink! Great if you like citrus!
