Tulsa, Oklahoma

The second largest city in Oklahoma, Tulsa is set on historic Route 66, making it a popular spot for weary travelers to rest their heads. Practically smack dab in the middle of the country, Tulsa shares both Midwestern and Southern sensibilities, which is especially evident in the city's food scene. Scattered throughout town, diners serve up home-style favorites like chicken-fried steak, biscuits and sausage gravy, fried okra, and sweet tea. Barbeque is another popular meal. Barbequed bologna, a regional specialty, is commonly offered on menus. For a true artery-clogging treat, head to Elmer's to order a Badwich. The venerated sandwich is piled high with ribs, chopped beef, smoked bologna, and a choice of hot links or smoked sausage.

Johnny Marzetti III

This was a huge hit here. Hubby asked to to put this one in our favorites. Everyone had 2 servings because it just tasted so good we wanted a little more. I used dried minced onion 1 Tbl. It was plenty cheesy too. A great comfort food, this is a midwest goulash type dish. My husband loved this, thanks!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed on Oct. 8, 2008 by ILove2Ck
This is one of the best muffins I have ever eaten! Wonderful for fall with the spicy pumpkin and the semi sweet chips keep this from being overly sweet. This is a really great tasting muffin and thye aren't too heavy and dense either. Thnaks, I'm definitely going to make these for the upcoming winter holiday events. These are good enough for special occas.

Banana Bread IV

Reviewed on Oct. 8, 2008 by ILove2Ck
Wonderful! Very moist, not as dense, lighter and fluffier than most banana bread recipes, nice flavor and a great touch with the vanilla. I thought it sounded like an extreme amount, but it turned out fabulous. Thanks, I agree with your family, this is some of the best banana bread!
